Review: Nike Outlet, Auburn

The key to scoring big bargains at this outlet, is visiting at the right time.

Because we love big discounts here at SWS, we weren’t going to head to Nike’s Auburn outlet for less than a 40% discount. So, take note.

Always ring the outlet/s to ask if they have their ‘EXTRA 30 – 50% off sale’ on– they happen more than you think!

By luck I visited the Auburn outlet during one of those sale days. Discounts at Nike outlets generally sit at 30% – 50% off retail prices. The headache of trawling through Parramatta Road’s traffic means the bargains need to be up to standard to visit.

On this day, they were. There was a huge selection of men’s and women’s runners, footy boots, and shoes FURTHER reduced by an extra 30% – 40%.

Selected women’s and men’s activewear items had 40% off already reduced prices. Other stock that had recently come in was only 30% off, as were kids shoes.

My purchases:

This women’s Sportswear Tech Fleece crew that is still FULL PRICE on Nike’s website. It was originally $200, then brought down to $120, and further reduced to $60! 

I also picked up a pair of the men’s Air Zoom Pegasus reduced to $105, after being brought down to $150, from $220.

But, there was one hiccup. At the checkout, I paid for the goods without checking the receipt.

After getting home, I noticed that the 30% extra discount on the runners hadn’t been applied. So, I called the store, provided a staff member with the receipt number and they agreed that the discount was missed.

The downside was having to physically return to get the refund. The good news? When I wanted to return a few more items I had changed my mind about, there was no problem whatsoever.

The round up is:

• Always ring the outlet/s before you go, to ask when or if there will be further discounts
• You’re almost always going to find a great selection of workout clothing for men and women, not so much for kids
• There’s varied shoe styles, from lifestyle shoes to running
• I didn’t see much of the skateboarding lines but they did have soccer, tennis and heaps of gym and running gear
• The staff are super friendly

The Auburn Nike outlet gets the tick of approval from SWS!
